YOU WILL NEED:
Bench
Sandpaper
Paintbrush
Primer
Waterproof or oil-based paint
Decorative paper
Waterproof Glue
Varnish
HOW TO MAKE:
- Sand your bench lightly to remove any old and loose paint or varnish.
- Make sure your bench is completely dry before you start painting.
- Paint the bench with a coat of primer and leave to dry.
- Then give a coat or two of your chosen colour.
- Leave to dry.
- Cut out large petal/flower shapes from decorative papers – the thinner the paper the better so it will lie almost completely flat against the bench.
- Use glue to stick each petal shape in place.
- Each petal/flower should be positioned over a few wooden strips on the bench.
- Cut where the paper isn’t stuck to any wood and glue the flaps towards the back.
- Continue with as many flowers as you like.
- Leave to dry.
- Give the whole bench a coat of varnish to make the paper designs waterproof.
